LCP CHAPTERS AND ASSOCIATED ISSUE AREAS
Land Use: Future Land Use Mapping
Development of a future land use map, taking into account factors such as buildout
expectations, market demand, community desired rate of development by village,
establishment of land use categories or transects, priorities for preservation, housing
needs, and business growth.
Natural Resources
Water Resources. Land use strategies supporting the Town’s marine, freshwater,
wetlands, stormwater, and groundwater/drinking water resources, and floodplains.
Open Space & Recreation. Including priority habitat, coastlines, open space
preservation and recreational values.
Climate Impacts. Including sea level rise and coastal vulnerabilities.
Facilities & Infrastructure
Transportation
Capital Facilities (Water/Sewer/Wastewater/Broadband), as they relate to future land
use, development, economic development, and the environment.
Energy, including renewable energy and emissions reduction
Waste
Economic Development
Including economic development strategies by sector and education
Culture, Heritage, and Design
Historic Preservation & Design, including preserving community and village character.

Targeted Action Plan
•Proposed new, or amendments to existing, municipal development
ordinances intended to advance the goals and vision of the LCP;
•Town’s implementation schedule and budgeting for proposed
capital facilities projects that will support achieving the
community’s vision;
•Implementation schedule for proposed private or non-municipal
infrastructure in or affecting the town, to the extent known by the
town;
•Implementation schedule for proposed actions intended to
advance fair, low- and moderate-income affordable housing
consistent with local needs, including anticipated housing starts
that meet identified supply targets;
Setting performance measures is a way to
track progress towards achieving the vision
and goals in the LCP. Examples of
performance measures include:
LCP Adoption
•The LCPC shall submit a final draft LCP to the
Town Council for consideration and a vote to
adopt
•After Town Council adoption, LCP is forwarded
to Cape Cod Commission for certification that
it is consistent with the RPP
