In response to concerns raised at the previous HHDC meeting, additional revisions have been
made to the Town of Barnstable parklets proposal:
We have opened up the design of the parklet by removing a panel from the side facing
the sidewalk to give the design less of a boxy look.
Planters have been added to the sides to give the parklets more character.
The bike rack has been altered to a more aesthetically pleasing design.
Lights for the parklets will be balled lights to match the nearby ones hanging from trees.
We have also provided options for the following components:
Siding: The siding of the parklets can be wooden slats, steel mesh or steel wire. Please
refer to the siding options page and example photos.
Shade sail: The shade sail will be a navy blue vinyl canopy with the option to have one
corner raised to depict more of a boat sail look. Please refer to option 1B for a rendering
of this option.
The parklet frame materials will remain black steel and the parklet will incorporate a steel bench.
