Letter of Support to The Town of Barnstable Planning Board
Dear Planning Board:
On behalf of the Hyannis Main Street Business Improvement District, we would like to extend our support for the Hyannis Dockside Condos Development as presented by Stuart Bornstein and
Holly Management.
This plan, by Gienapp Architects, is an upscale design, showing a mix of Cape Cod and Nantucket styles, right in keeping (and setting an improved design tone) to the Hyannis waterfront.
This excellent level of architectural plans, quality and view will elevate this underutilized and sometimes maligned residential neighborhood. It is key that this high-end property
be developed for the important planned continued growth and reputation of this area.
Adding residents right in the downtown are one of the single most important ways we can spark year round vitality to Hyannis Main Street. The phrase “rooftops follow residential” is
a common term to explain that a part of the success of shops and restaurants depend on the support of the nearby residents. Having an upscale year round community in walking distance
to the downtown district will strongly bolster and help positively shape our 120 locally owned businesses.
We trust the hardworking boards and committees that support the Town of Barnstable to work through the details of this development.
