OKH 11 9 22 draft meeting minutes Town of Barnstable Old King’s Highway Historic District Committee MINUTES Wednesday, November 9, 2022, 6:30 pm To all persons deemed interested or affected b y the Town of Barnstable's Old King’s Highway Historic District Act under Section 9 of Chapter 470, Acts of 1973 as amended. The Chair explained the hearing and appeal process and invited the public to address the Committee and view the plans of interest when the application is called. Bett McCarthy, thinks appropriate and materials as well. No issues with the design as presented. Lesley Wallace, this will fit in nicely. No issues. Ryan Coholan, plot plan – 70 ft. from the street? Put in porch, this is all in the gross floor area. Inside is approximately 4,000 and with finished basement would add more area. Wendy Shuck, are other houses this size in the area? Kevin Werner in attendance. Cape style house. Shows pictures of the house, addition to be added to the left. Match white clapboard. 12 over 12 double hung windows. Flat roof. Galley rail on top. Public comment: None A motion was made by Bett McCarthy to approve the Certificate of Appropriateness for Allen Davis, 161 Plum Street, West Barnstable, Map 195, Parcel 040, built 1984 for an 8’ x 16’ addition on the front of the residence to enlarge existing first floor primary bedroom, as submitted, seconded by Ryan Coholan, Roll Call Vote: Bett McCarthy - aye Lesley Wallace - aye Ryan Coholan - aye Wendy Shuck - aye Paul Richard - aye Demelo, Danubia, 8 Marble Road, Barnstable, Map 316, Parcel 028, built 1983 Add a farm front porch and covered patio with outdoor kitchen. Danubia Demelo in attendance. Gives an explanation of the proposed project. Plans shown. Extending the porch to the corner and around to the front. In the back, add covered kitchen area – patio area covered. Have a roof on left side sliding door already, will be of the same height. Bett McCarthy, the porch and covered patio, no issues. Lesley Wallace, where porch wraps around to the left, is that open? Where they connect, all one or closed off? Danubia Demelo, not open. The existing porch has inclined roof, closed off. Ryan Coholan, roofing at joint of new porch, is it metal roof here, asphalt? Danubia Demelo, this is the framing, will match the existing roof. Wendy Shuck, will there be any plantings between porch? Danubia Demelo, wasn’t thinking to have any big plants there. Paul Richard, don’t need a landscape plan for this. Public comment: None.
