Dear Ms. Jenkins,
I am writing to you regarding Matthew and Laurie Kelley’s plans to partially demolish 554 Wianno Avenue in Osterville.
I live at 550 Wianno Avenue, a direct abutter to 554. We have immediate views of the house as well as a shared
driveway. Our family has been living beside 554 for the last 23 years. We are very honoured to live in this rare historic
district of Osterville and understand the importance of maintaining the integrity of the registered historic houses and
area.
We are very pleased the Kelley’s have taken on the project of restoring this house. Our concern, however, is that the
sum changes they propose may alter the area and building’s historic importance.
Osterville has an amazing history which is partly conveyed by its historic houses of which there are very few remaining.
We feel it’s important that those houses and areas that are protected remain so with the utmost scrutiny. We therefore
respectfully request you consider the Kelley’s proposal be submitted to the Cade Cod Commission for further review.
