Dear Chair Parkes and Members of the Commission:We are writing to express our complete support for Matthew and Laurie Kelley’s application to renovate of 554 Wianno Avenue, Osterville,
Massachusetts. We met with the Kelleysearlier this summer to review the plans prepared by Hutker Architects. Their plans were well done and do an excellent job of preserving an important
home in the Wianno Historic District. We understand that the Kelleys went through a very detailed review with the staff of the Cape Cod Commission, in an effort to ensure that their
project does not jeopardize the property’s status as a contributing structure in the Wianno Historic District.
A few years ago we went through a similar process to renovate our home at 557 Wianno Avenue, and we believe the proposed renovation by the Kelleys will further improve our corner of
the Wianno Historic District. We know firsthand how much more difficult it can be to renovate an historic structure, and the reality is that there are precious few homeowners willing
to undertake such a considerable task. We consider ourselves lucky that the Kelleys are hoping to do just that, and we look forward to seeing the fruits of their labor.Thank you for
