I am writing to offer my support in regards to David and Diane Munsell's ZBA #2022043 and 2022044.
I am a longtime resident of Barnstable Village and a neighbor of the Munsells. I have seen the plans for
their proposed new house and understand that at issue is the proximity of one side of the foot print which
will be situated at the exact location already occupied by an existing barn. The existing barn has always
been there and never bothered anyone, including St. Mary's Church who, in my opinion, is the only
neighbor whose opinion really matters due to their proximity to the current barn/the proposed house. St.
Mary's Church is in support of the Munsells, I think that speaks volumes.
David and Dianne Munsell are the best neighbors a person could hope for. They are an asset and ardent
supporter of everything that is good about Barnstable Village. The house they propose to build fits with
the character of the village and, anyone who didn't know beforehand that the new house will sit on a line
a few feet shy of a particular setback, would have no reason to question it, just as no one ever questioned
the location of the barn that has always sat on that same line.
