Background
The subject building at the 500 block of Main Street was originally constructed in the mid 1900’s as a
generic, flat roof, one story commercial structure with large display windows along the front façade and
has continued the style and use to this day.
Proposal
The Applicant proposes to paint certain features of the front façade and replace the exterior signage.
Specifically, the applicant proposes to paint accent features, where faded beige once was, to a “Newport
Indigo” blue.
In addition, 3 signs are proposed. A 24”x36” carved cedar wall sign is proposed to be flush mounted.
Additionally a 21”x9” vinyl window graphic is proposed in white. Lastly a 21”x52” open” flag sign is
proposed.

The Commission may wish to consider a reduced wall sign and recommend that the sign is centered and
mounted within the concrete façade and not to extend beyond the roof line.
The Flag sign is proposed to meet the required maximum size of 3’x5’.
Mary George & Anastaci Pacella – 430-438 Main Street
The Application submitted stated 430-436 Main Street. Staff noted that the address is in fact 430-438
Main Street. Due to the incorrect address notification, the Applicant has agreed to renotice to abutters
with the correct address.
It is recommended that the Commission open the hearing and continue to May 4th, 2022 in order to
provide the Applicant sufficient time to properly notice abutters.
